I was inspired to make this collection of stocking cap designs based off a scientific article I read titled “Mammals as Seed-Dispersal Mutualists in North America” by Mary F. Willson. Mary wondered if when carnivores ate fruit, the passed seeds still germinated, making carnivores seed dispersers. Carnivores have much longer digestive systems compared to animals you usually think of as dispersers, like birds and mice. They can also eat much larger seeds. So at the time (1992), Mary studied which species of carnivores ate which species of fruit, and whether those seeds were viable.

The stocking cap is 60% acrylic and 40% recovered wool making it partially constructed of sustainable materials. One size fits all.
